Best Western Plus The Connaught Hotel and Spa

Very comfy and quiet room. Great staff food from the Restaurant was a very good standard. Breakfast was a good standard with very little queuing for your table and Tea and Coffee boughtbto your table straight away which compared to other hotels is unique. Great location with good local facilities within walking distance. Spa was a good standard.

The hotel is quite cute. The dinner was amazing, the food was really extraordinary! the room was nice, warm, the bed comfortable. no view from the room. the bathroom was a good size. the staff was very friendly and willing to help!

Hash browns dry and over cooked. Everything else was lovely and hot good range of choices . Staff lovely. Was partners birthday so asked for an upgrade couldn’t accommodate but moved to a room with s better view, then my partner wanted a bath so we were moved to another room which was actually are original room . Requested a celebration cake which was nice - but didn’t have a choice in what cake and we arrived monday birthday was Wednesday but cake was there on arrive . Nice spa facilities. Good distance from town Taxi service good and efficient Lovely house keeper we met. Bed comfy

We had a lovely twin room with a balcony but were allocated a disabled bathroom. It was old, dated and had the same sort of flooring you find in hospitals. Simply awful. Needs refurbishing sooner rather than later. I loathe the cheap alternative to toilets, a bottle of shower gel fixed to the wall. "The Connaught Hotel and Spa"??? Why no robes in the room? We took it for granted there would be robes. Having to collect towels from reception doesn't work. Breakfast average. Choice of yoghurt awful. No fresh fruit. Not much choice for a vegetarian. I ordered poached eggs which arrived 15-20 minutes later. I was half way through my breakfast. Staff were absolutely wonderful, friendly, professional and very helpful. But only one Receptionist on who was simply run off her feet. I rang reception a couple of times and the call was not answered because she was so busy. We ordered room service, a cheeseboard and a scrummy chocolate dessert. Absolutely lovely. Restaurant and menu looked gorgeous. Will eat there the next time I visit.

Breakfast was very good, room was fine, perhaps not a clean as it could be particularly, the bathroom. Lots of dust around outside base of shower unit. Spa was ok, needs some redecoration, and more seating around pool. Roof over pool really bad, sauna, and steam rooms good. The 2 massages with had with Sharon where amazing, thanks you. Spa got very busy in the late afternoon as i understand open to others as membership access
